Alicia Jones is the 2025-2026 Bell Elementary Teacher of the Year!
Alicia joined Team Tulsa as a pre-K teacher in 2013. She started teaching kindergarten at Bell in 2017 and became an English language development teacher in 2021. We asked her a few questions to learn more about her and her time in Tulsa Public Schools.
What led you to a career in education?
Most of my life I spent watching my mother teach Children’s Church. When I was old enough, I became teacher’s assistant in her classroom. This fueled my desire to teach and gave me some experience to know this was what I wanted to do.
What is your favorite thing about your work?
I love that I get to live life with so many people. I work with an amazing team -- parents, teachers, and students.
What is one thing you are passionate about outside of teaching?
I enjoy painting and playing my bass in my spare time.
